Department of Samhita Siddhanta and Sanskrit of S.D.M. College of Ayurveda, Hospital and ResearchCentre, Kuthpady, Udupi has organized Charaka Samhita Udayastamana Parayana on 26/07/2025 on account of Charaka Jayanti.
All the 30 chapters of the Sutrasthana of Ancient Ayurveda Treatise Charaka Samhita was recited continuously from the dawn to dusk by the UG students, PG Scholars and teaching staff of the college.Dr. Nagaraj S, Medical Superintendent of SDM Ayurveda Hospital, Udupi has inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp at the time of Suryodaya (sunrise) and described the importance of reading ancient literatures of Ayurveda. In the evening, President of the program Dr. Mamatha K.V., Principal has guided the students of read Samhita in her valedictory speech.
Dr. Vidyalakshmi K, HOD, Dept. of Samhita Siddhanta and Sanskrit delivered vote of thanks. Dr. Mahalakshmi MS was the coordinator of the program on this occasion. Staff of the department Sri Subrahmanya Bhat P, Dr. Arhanth Kumar A, Dr. Likhita D.N., Dr. Dhanashri B. Patil and others were present on the occasion. On this special day cultural committee of the college has organized drawing competition on the theme of Charaka Samhita. Program was closed by the remembrance of Kargil Vijay Diwas by lighting the lamp and singing National Anthem.
