ASARE Marks 17 Years of Empowerment and Inclusive Education

ASARE, a home for special abled children with a school and rehabilitation centre for autism and learning disorders, celebrated its 17th anniversary on 16 June 2025 at ASARE Manipal. ASARE is a joint project of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Manipal and Archana Trust.

Reflecting on MAHE’s long-standing association with ASARE, Dr. H.S. Ballal, Pro Chancellor, MAHE, Manipal, stated, “I am very happy to be part of ASARE’s 17th anniversary celebration. I still remember when this project was first discussed. Mr. Ramdas and I were present during the initial conversations, and it was heartening to see immediate support being extended, including matching grants to help it take shape. ASARE truly embodies our belief that specially abled children do not seek sympathy, they seek opportunities. Opportunities to learn, grow, become independent, and contribute meaningfully to society. Over these 17 years, ASARE has consistently proven that with the right environment and support, these children can achieve remarkable milestones. On behalf of MAHE, I commend the entire team for their work and assure you of our continued support in ASARE's noble mission.”

Chief Guest Rtn. Shashikala Rajavarma, President elect, Rotary Club, Manipal, inaugurated the event and said, "It is truly an honor to be part of ASARE’s 17th anniversary celebration. For nearly two decades, ASARE has quietly and consistently upheld the highest ideals of service, and I heartily congratulate the entire team on this milestone. This institution has not only provided rehabilitation and support to its residents but has also brought hope, dignity, and direction to families who often feel isolated and unsure as they navigate the challenges of autism and learning disorders. We at Rotary salute the dedication of the educators, therapists, and volunteers who make this possible. I also reaffirm our commitment to walk alongside you on this journey. We will continue to explore meaningful ways to collaborate, contribute, and support your efforts. Let this anniversary not only be a celebration but a steppingstone towards greater inclusion, awareness, and opportunity for every child.”

Guests of Honor for the 17th Anniversary of ASARE were Dr. Raviraja N. S., COO, MAHE, Manipal,

Dr. Anil K. Bhat, Dean, KMC, Manipal; Dr. Geetha Maiya, Director, Student Affairs, MAHE; and Mr. Purushotham Shetty, Proprietor, Ujwal Developers, who expressed their appreciation for ASARE's dedicated service to the community.
